Se renta cuarto en Pilsen
As an attempt to better understand the true essence of a particular place, I searched for unmediated forms of communication in Pilsen, a neighborhood in Chicago currently undergoing gentrification. I took photographs of flyers posted on telephone poles in the neighborhood and then re-presented this content in a format that emulates the style of a poetry book. The new format aims to draw attention to text that’s often overlooked in its native, often undesigned format. It also presents the disparate messages of the flyers’ authors in a unified style, acting like a handheld neighborhood newsletter.
